You're having so much fun! I'm glad you found a contest...now WIN it!! You CAN do it!
One good pat on the back deserves another...
Thanks again.
Hiya, Erik. Thanks for the tip. It's great to see some writing from you. I loved your story.
Forrest,
Thanks for stopping by. Yeah, I'm having fun. I believe you are too.
Jaye,
Hiya back, Jaye. Thanks for the kind words. I'll come look ya up.
And Erik's is one of the best!
I went on a streak a year ago, where I won a number of writing and blog awards. I was fully employed at the time.
Now a fulltime writer, I can't win dick.
Is there a lesson here?
Work, especiall dull work, seems to wake you up.
Maybe I should take a job right away so I should be sufficiently awakened to learn how to set up pictures in my blog.
Says H.L. Mencken: The road is strewn with writers who thought they could make a living at this alone.
And: You can't be producing good ideas for three hours straight anyway. Might as well get back to work.
Bernita, Dear Gal!
Ivan,
I like the hell out of the "get back to work" idea. Just haven't been able to find anbody that wants me.
Okay, Dr. James:
I went over to Clarity Of Night and read the entries - I liked yours, by the way - and then was accosted by a large HAND which reached out from the screen and grabbed me about the throat...choking until I agreed to write SOMETHING for the contest.
So I did. And I sent it off to Dr. Evans. He graciously acknowledged my entry and when I went back to the site to read it, found out I'd left out one of the most important words!! So I had to re-email him asking to have the offending verbiage inserted. He graciously did so. I think it helps, but nowhere near as much as it would take to come in even fourth or fifth. I think I'm in a league way, WAY over my head. Oh, well, that's the writing game. Learn something new every day.
Thanks for the notice of the contest.
